Bodo Department is one of the major departments of Simen Chapari College. It was established in 1994. At the initial stage Bodo Department got permission to offer the Bodo MIL as the core subject for under graduate level in the college. Gradually the department got permission from the concerned University to introduce Elective Bodo and Bodo Major in the year of 2004 and 2011 respectively. Since the Academic Year 2019-2020, Bodo Department has been offering Honours and General courses for B. A. programme under CBCS (Credit Based Choice System) in the college.
